11:38 am two very cool webpages
http://universe.daylife.com/
http://www.wefeelfine.org/
these both take some playing around with to get used to. The second one does a search for "I feel" or similar sentences and groups all of the results from the internet into various categories like gender, place, emotion, age, blah. cool visuals.

05:17 pm I think BBC sports writing can be really hilarious sometimes:
Federer 4-3 Gabashvili The battling Gaba - whose uncle was a world diving champion, I'm told - holds again with a brace of boomers on his first serve. Roger, with gold flashes on his short-sleeved shirt, glides to his chair for a restorative banana.
The bendy carbohydrate does the job beautifully, and Champ holds serve to 15 to move within flicking distance of victory.

02:47 pm - MCAT scores! hello all!
So I got my MCAT scores back... I am just above the average at OHSU, which means I'm pretty competitive at most state schools anywhere in the country (other than CA, of course. they have like 90% cal residents). Anyway, I am extremely relieved! I was just imagining what it would be like having to spend the rest of my summer preparing for that bastard again. Not a happy thought. And the rest of my application is almost done, just need to finish preparing my personal statement and I will have it all in. HOORAH!!
One of my "widgets" (silly mac things) is a webcam of old faithful at Yellowstone... I have been playing with mapquest a bit, sighhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh I really want to go back there. I think it's going to have to wait awhile, unfortunately.
Hope everyone is well! My friend Katie is making tofu tacos tonight. Mmmmm

04:51 pm DONE!
I was already started at 730 this morning... was the only one in the testing center, and was out by about 1230.
I do feel pretty good... It wasn't the easiest test. There were 3 ochem passages, which sucks. They weren't necessarily THAT hard, but they are certainly not my strong point. Barely finished the physical science section, the verbal stuff was remarkably easy, and I finished the bio with time to spare, but I was pretty unsure about a lot of my answers. It was my first time attempting any of their essays, and I must say, mine were really good. So no worries there. Anyhow, I have a month till I get the results. Anything above a... 31... I would be happy with. Please MCAT gods??
To celebrate I just bought a 13 euro bottle of wine... the shop keeper was kinda ditsy and gave me 22 euros change back after I gave her a 20. I walked out of the shop and REALLY wanted to keep it.... but she just seemed so nice and it was a small shop, so I went back and gave her the money back. I'm still so damned poor......
beach bar tonight!

04:24 pm - cluster headaches a patient in my neurology class was diagnosed with this...
"The pain has been described as akin to being stabbed repeatedly in the eye with an ice pick[3] or hot poker. [4] It has been described in medical journals as one of the most severe pain syndromes suffered by human beings"
